A few Updates!
I held a snake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok so for reals, snakes have ALWAYS been my Number 1 fear!!!! Even seeing them in a glass cage would make my heart race. Well I headed over to my girl Tiffany's house Sat night for "Girls Night In" and to my surprise, she JUST bought a pet snake! WTH!!!! But after a few drinks (ok a few too many) I decided I might as well try to conquer a fear. Nobody else there was scarred and a few of the girls had already held him. They insisted he was not poisonous and it would just feel like needles if he did bite. So I went for it! Still feel a lil creepy thinking back, I would not have done it sober, but the liquid courage gave me the little bit of nerve I needed to get the job done!
This is what I actually looked like when she first handed it to me, hehe, BEFORE I smiled for the picture!
Also that night, I played Guitar Hero SERIOUSLY for the first time in my life! Lol! I suuuuuuuuuuuuucked! I butchered an amazing Ozzy song :( I apologized!
Although this pose and face just struck me, looking at it now it reminds me of Amy W.,, lol, not intended!
first time I've fixed my hair DOWN and "normal" in forever. I've been doing it curly or wavy b/c it was so short. But this time I finally just did it how I did when it was long. Blow dried it straight with a flat wood brush and then curled the ends....Oh how I've missed that look!
Now for a slap in the face!
Sun night Lloyd and I went cosmic bowling with my friend Tiff and some other friends. (He was sick, that's why he looks "off", lol) And OMG LOOK AT ME!!!!! i'M SOOO FAT! :(
This picture almost looks like a before picture of me. My shoulder (or shirt) is hiding my thinner face, and I just look soooo huge! I swear I have not gained a pound, omg! It is so disappointing and upsetting to see pictures of myself like this. But then I think about it and feel like THIS is just a reality. I'm probably just really good at taking pictures of myself and this is just how everyone else sees me. :'(
since I was so bummed about how I looked in that picture (been bummed about it for 2 days now) I decided I needed to take new bathroom pics just to SEE what I look like now. If anything, I figured I'd look just like I did in May, since I haven't really lost a pound since then.
*However, I will add, I have lost 15.25 inches since May, just not any POUNDS. Which StILL strikes me as odd.

May- same weight as now
so seriously, I CAN see a difference, ecspecially in the side view. What the hell is up with my body? Am I doing too much"muscle" workouts when I do workout???? What should I switch to to lose FAT and weight???? Ugh! I can see that I've lost actual fat off my stomach b/c you can see that in the frontal shot. But I just want to lose MORE, or actually start losing again. My eating is NOT crazy I just haven't had time for exercise lately. And when I do exercise I eat more...and maintain my weight. I'm in this fucked up spiral with NO DAMN CLUE what to do! I want to lose the last 30 asap! Tell me what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
xoxo,
Liz

Wow!
ReplyDeleteTake a deep breath. Count to ten, whatever it is you need to do and then say with me...relax, Liz.
You SO TOTALLY have lost fat! Like, a lot! Muscle weighs more than fat, you know that, I know you know that. But if you haven't been measuring your lean body mass, you probably don't know what you are really losing. I guarantee it's fat you are losing. Calculate your lean body mass now and I think you'll be quite surprised and pleased.
This is a site I like for making this calculation.

But seriously...you've lost 15+ inches since May. The scale is not the number giving you feedback right now. All I can say is keep doing what you are doing. Because you are doing the right thing. When your muscle content is high enough (and you should be close to that point) then you will start seeing the scale fall, too. Even if it doesn't, who cares, the measurements and the photos tell you what you need to know.
I hope this helps...
the only advice i can give is just eat right, drink alot of water and hang in there. i believe in you
ReplyDeleteYou can get calipers cheaply at (what you need to determine your LBM

I would increase your cardio liz, maybe that will shake things up a bit?
ReplyDeleteLDswins: I will have to try that!
ReplyDeleteI think all I do is cardio. B/c when in doubt I just run! I haven't lifted weights in months. And the only other workout I throw in sometimes in hiking, which I think is cardio and strength, both, I think...
And I don't really wanna give up running. I'm doing another half marathon in Jan.
You are looking fabulous Libby! You have made excellent progress since May even if the scale hasn't changed.
ReplyDeleteI can totally see a differencE! I think we are same same... im strugglin on the scales yet im fitting better in things and things are looser?! Its crazy town.... im banking on mine being muscle now.
ReplyDeleteYOUR F@#!()$&! HOT!
I want more photos of you and Llyod!
I LOVE PHOTOS.
I also love guitar hero.... i wanna play it again i havent for ages and my friend Troy was like LETS PLAY GUITAR HERO so guess i should get the dust off it and go.
:)
You look so different, I guess we are just about in the same boat at the moment :o)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the inches gone for ever!!!
I have a wacky theroy. Our bodies are concentrating on getting rid of inches at the moment and any time now, they will jump into getting rid of the pounds!!!!
What do you think?!?
You look great, girl and you've come a long way. Don't let one picture send you down the road of self doubt.
ReplyDeleteI can tell a huge difference, but I think I understand how you feel. There are times that I just see myself and lose sight of all of the good changes when I feel like I haven't changed on the scale like I should.
ReplyDeleteYou look great-- exercise is treating you well!
swim. i swim for exercise and it does not make me as hungry as working out. i use styrofoam barbells in the water for my arms and there is plenty of other equipment to use for other parts of the body. i find that i exercise longer because with swimming i enjoy the work out.
