Feelings Vlog 5/19/10 at OneTrueMedia.com
So I just had to share this. I hope I do not offend anyone with generalizations. I feel like I understand almost everyone's possible "issues" with food and life in general. I am the go to person for advice or just listening, to most people I know. I don't know why but I have considered a career as a counselor or psychologiest, I adore psychology!!!
But so I hope this touches people rather than upsetting or offending them. I know this can be an "upseting" topic! I say it with love!!!!

loved this vlog! Lots of great comments, and you expressed them in such a good way- I really agree with all that you said, especially the part about putting yourself first if you want to be able to be there for your family and friends.
ReplyDeleteYou look great- congrats on your latest hike!
This was a good one! I agree with a lot of what you said and I'm glad that you aren't afraid to put yourself out there and talk about an uncomfortable subject that some people could get upset by.
ReplyDeleteI've definitely gotten to the point where I've stopped worrying about the food/exercise so much (because I've got it down and know when I'm off track and can get back on fairly easily) and am at the point where I'm really focusing on what's going on in my brain. Some days there isn't much and others it's overwhelming. My husband and I went through a pretty hard time before I had surgery and once we got through that we really learned how to communicate our feelings to one another and learned to not hold back (that's how we got ourselves in trouble in the first place) so now I'm pretty open with him about what's going on in my head especially when it comes to the being taken aback by the attention that I get.
So glad you are back on the blogging trail! I missed you while you were away and now you are on fire! We get a post from you like everyday now!
Glad you guys liked it! It's a very tough, but necessary part of our journey!
ReplyDeleteLiz, this vlog really spoke to me. You made so many great points that really got me thinking.
ReplyDeleteThank You
Good Debi! I'm so glad! It's a sensitive topic but I didn't set out to hurt anybody. Just hoped to wake up some people to realize how important the mental part is!
ReplyDeleteGreat Post. It is so great that you have worked these things out at 25. I am 41 and just finding acceptance with myself and adressing the bits I don't like. Thanks for your insight
ReplyDeleteAwesome post. I am feeling many of these feeling pre-op and it was good to hear I am NOT the only one. I think as a mom and a wife in some peoples cases, it is EXTREMELY difficult to put yourself first. It is however, like you said, SO important. I tell myself daily.....you have to take care of YOU to take care of anyone else. Thanks for sharing!
