"The Plan" Progress
It's going well. I did two days of drinking the cranberry juice mixed with water (eating regular meals) and I feel so much better. I don't think my bladder has ever felt this healthy! I WAS planning on starting a fruit flush today but I had some terribly sad news from my bff this am and I just realized that weightloss is not THAT BIG A DEAL that we starve ourselves or restrict ourselves b/c we're unhappy with a few pounds on the scale. Don't get me wrong, YES I want to lose weight. But I can no longer be on this little tyrant about losing it quicker b/c there are just too many more important things in life to stress over than my PACE at losing weight. I'd rather focus my energy on that.
So today I just ate normal, no snacking, good portions, replaced 1 meal with a cliff bar, drank my water, no drinking with meals, etc. I did well. No dinner yet tonight, I don't know if I'll eat b/c I'm not hungry right now. But if I don't eat SOMETHING now I'll be starving at bedtime. So I dunno.
I'm working tomorrow and I usually don't, so that seems odd. I won't get my weekday OFF without kids to do whatever I want. But it's getting too hot to hike solo so I knew I couldn't do that this week. In fact, I can't do it anymore unless I drive away from the metro and go up north somewhere. And I dunno if I'm dedicated to the cause enough to drive 2-3 hrs to hike 2-3 hrs ALONE and then drive back. Weird. I don't know, ya know! Anyway though....OMG GREAT NEWS!
My boys are LOVING their new school. It's a preschool for Konnor (he'll stay there) and Riley is going to the Summer camp there (he'll go to a regular public school in the fall). They both love it! first day (Tuesday) they were so nervous but then WEd they ran through the hallways rushing to their classes! that made me feel so good!!! THEN, I found out today that a Karate studio offers karate once a week there at the school for Konnor's age group. So I signed him up for once weekly karate and I'm sooooo stoked b/c this will be the first time he's ever gotten to participate in a sport like that before. Being a single mom I've never had the time after work to take either of them to the "practices" weekday evenings and most sports don't offer weekend only meetings. So I am so happy he gets to participate in this through the Preschool while I'm at work and he benefits from it!!! Now I just want to find a sport for Riley, no such luck so far!
And then, I found out there there is a 24 hrs gym 2 blocks from my boys new school. It's small and I don't know what all they have, but my blood has been craving the elliptical and treadmill and that's all I NEED!!! So I'm going to swing by tomorrow after work and maybe set up a membership. I could easily squeeze in 30 mins to an hour 2-3 times during the week, if they don't offer childcare for me to take the boys on the weekend. If they don't do that, then I'd do it 3-4 times DURING the week. It wouldn't hinder our evening routine by much, since I have a much shorter commute now! I'm soooo excited. I feel like our little life out here in the boonies is finally getting alll set up, comfortable, cozy, and AWESOME!!!
xoxo,
P.s. I've got to figure out how to change my blog background. I found a few I love and it's sooo irritating that I can't figure it out! Ugh! Soon!

You sound so chipper and excited about life! I am trying to feed off you vibes as I am currently writing a 10 page final paper and it blows with a capital B!
ReplyDeleteHere's my thoughts on the long drive to hike alone, if you benefit from it, as in it gives you some me time and invigorates you, then I say it is worth, but if you are just looking for an avenue to work out then say at home, thats alot of time to be a wasting.
I see you're doing the summer meltdown, all I can say is you better watch out I'm getting revved up!!! ha ha
Lol Beth! Yeah we should try to beat each other since our weight is so close! But then again you're already a few pounds below me and I'm a damn sore loser! :P But we're gonna rock it!
ReplyDeleteOh and I just do the hikes b/c they're beautiful and I mentally enjoy it! I would drive for one...but I'd rather take somone with me incase I were to get lost or hurt on a mountain, there's someone there while I'm FAR away from home!
ReplyDeleteIt all sounds good...keep up the good work...like the new blog
