Awesome things I am getting this week!
This is a Protein powder highly recommender by a fellow WLS person who has Gastric. She says she spent 9 mths trying things that tasted either bad or like "monkey ass", haha! After coming across this one she fell in love! Now I think she's 2 yrs post op and still uses this brand. She cooks w/ it in everything from shakes, smoothies, cakes, puddings, pancakes, rolls, muffins, donuts, etc. A ton of uses.
I am buying this this friday. It is however, $50 for a 2 lb tub but I think it will be a good investment. Her blog is here ---> http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/
Here is the nutritional info for the Protein powder. I will give a 100% honest review when I get it. This powder can be found at https://www.seipharmaceuticals.com/products/Max-Protein.html#
Also recommended on her site is the bento lunch box. Hers is the original one and is larger. I feel the biggest difference w/ lapbandsters and gastric pt's is that they can actually eat MORE food than us, when we are at our optimum fill. So the original bento has 5-6 comparments to put food in. This is another bento box but smaller. This one only costs $15 and I will be investing in this this week as well. You can tell how small it is by the grapes. And it does come w/ a utensil and a carrying case...Pictured below.
This is the whole sha-band you get for $15. These can be found on www.amazon.com by searching for "bento lunch box".
This is a protein cereal she recommends. It is supposed to taste like honey nut cheerios but w/ added protein. They come in 1 oz. indivdual bags that are 100 calories and 9 gms of protein. I love honey nut cheerios so I will get this as well. This can be found on amazon as well.
This is a surgar free vanilla syrup from www.amazon.com I will be purchasing for my homemade coffees and capaccinos. Yum! You can also use it in your smoothies, cakes, and any desert recipe.
I thought I'd end this blog with some food porn I will be torturing myself with later today. Here is is a lazy Sunday afternoon as I enjoy my french vanilla capaccino w/ 2% milk and it's only 77 degrees outside today. I'm going to be making a "better than sex" cake this afternoon to take to work tomorrow for my friends birthday. It is chocolate cake, holes cut in the top, pour on top sweetened condensed milk and caramel topping that has been melted. then you do a layer of cool whip as your "icing" and add crushed up Heath bars to the top. You refriderate and serve cold and the heath bars get all soft and chewy.OMG good! I will allow myself a tiny sliver at work tomorrow. It is sooooo good but also sooo sweet!Sorry about the food porn after all that "healthy life" stuff. I'm just excited to make it b/c it's been over a year and it was one of my Nanny's favorites. *Love you Nanny*!
Peace & Good work-outs,
Liz
P.S. I have a new work out plan. I feel like I've already told you ladies b/c I put the news in all 8 of my unsuccesful vlogs, haha! Buttttt, my plan is to jog every weekday morning from 4:30am-5am before my kids get up. This is something I can finally attempt since I now live w/ my parents. They wake up around 5 or 530 or on their best days 7, god who really knows! I figured 430 would just be a safe bet. We'll see how it goes. My PLAN is to START Monday morning, on 11-09-09!

Sometimes I wish I lived in the US.. you guys have the most interesting food! Glad you're getting out there and exercising.. sounds like being with your parents has a great up-side :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I love eggface, too, and have had my eye on the same things. I would love all of it, but I think I will just get the protein powder and Torani syrup this month. I would like to make some of her five minute microwave cakes!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the running. But 4:30? You are brave.
ReplyDeleteLove how Eggface lady described most protein powders as tasting like "monkey butt"! And thanks for all the tips!
Hi there! I love eggface's blog. I'm on it everyday looking at her food porn, or checking out her shopping lists (todays is Costco). Let me know how that powder is, I've been wondering but didn't want to spend $50 if it was gross. Have a great day! Loved the cup of Jane pics.
ReplyDeleteAnd....? Did you jog?
ReplyDeleteI've been following Shelley's blog too! LOVE the Bento box and have been wanting to get one. PLEASE DO let us know what you think about the protein powder. I have a $30 tub sitting at home that I've used twice...YUCK!
ReplyDeleteYeah I'm getting the protein powder and bento box for sure Friday and might even overnight them b/c I'm so excited! I will give a full review!
ReplyDeleteAnd I"m super stoked to try the microwave cakes too and I love that they are enough for 1 person b/c most of the time I'm just cooking for me anyway.
