Talk about gettin' down to BIZness!
well hooty who, Lordy I'm feelin' good.
So today is my new day off and no kids b/c they are at school/daycare. So I decided it'd be a great day to go check out this gym by my house. They have a free 3 day visitor pass online so I printed it out and off I went. I didn't get to go until about 12 b/c Joe had my car going to the doctor. So I was dressed to sweat, had my banana protein shake, hair up, and mp3 fully charged!
I get in there and this nice lady gives me a tour of the place! It is A-mazing! Huge, huge workout area w/ tons of equipment but then they also have this gorgeous women's locker. It has tons of mahogony lockers, a flat screen TV, a leather ottoman, mirrors and blow dryers for a "getting ready after" place, sinks, toilets, showers that are beautiful, a steamroom, and a sauna ALL in the womens locker room. Then u go out and between the men and womens locker room are 2 stand up tanning beds that only cost $5 per use, (or a package in your membership) good deal. All the cardio equipment is positioned stadium style and each row is 1 type of machine. So the row of treadmills is a foot higher than the row of ellipticals, get my drift? It's neato. Plus each cardio machine has it's own little flat screen TV attached to the top, in perfect eye range. That was cool I got in some Access Hollywood, TMZ, and stole peeks of a show on TLC from someone elses tV, haha!
So here's what I did.
~12:30pm the fun started...
did 60 mins on the treadmill getting 3.6 miles done. I walked most of it, probably 45 mins and ran 15 mins. But I was not able to run as well today, even pushing myself to my limits. So I did a 3 min increments to total 15 mins.
~Then I stretched out on the floor for 10 mins.
~Then I played in the lockerroom taking pictures and goin' potty for 10 mins.
~Then I got on the elliptical, I remember my sister saying it burns calories twice as fast as walking on a treadmill. So the first 5 mins I thought I was gonna die. I just kept saying "you can do this, don't be a whimp. just get through 15 mins and I'll let u stop" and when 15 came I was doin' better and inspired by the "calories burned" # so I went all the way to 30 mins. In 30 mins on that machine I burned 513 calories and my HR was through the roof, it was a GREAT workout!
~Then I did 20 mins on the weight machines. I only did tricepts and abs b/c my MD said I'm solid muscle under my fat and I'd have to be careful not to bulk up too much b/c when the fat comes off I may be disappointed in how muscely I am. I agree so I just did the muscles of mine that are saggy and weak, that being abs and triceps.
~Then I did 25 mins on the stationary back at a moderate speed. by then I was getting tired but just wanted to get in more to hit that "3 hrs at the gym" goal and I was so tired of all the songs on my mp3 player playlist so then I watched some Access Hollywood. haha!
****I burned 1393 calories today and only ate about 950****
I am proud of myself for not only going but pushing the limits. Pushing myself and knowing that I am capable of anything as long as I believe in myself and have high expectations.
I am going back tomorrow. I get a free fitness assesment so that'll be cool to hear what he has to say about my "fitness level", I'm actually nervous about it. That's around 2 so I will be able to go while the boys are napping. My goal is to be fine being there for 2 hrs tomorrow, including the assessment and I don't know how long that takes. But I am definetley going to focus more on the elliptical than the treadmill b/c it burns so many calories. I'll hop back on the treadmill in a few wks to pick up training for the half marathon. Right now w/ the elliptical I'll focus on losing weight and building up stamina and endurance.
Then I want to for sure go on Sunday, I could take the kids b/c they have a child watch area and they have a camera in there where you can watch it from your TV on your cardio machine, cool huh! So I'll take them w/ me at least once b/c they used to like going w/ me to the Y. I don't know when I'll get workout time in Monday-Thur. I know it's considered good if I do 3x a week but I'd prefer for there to not be 4 days off, you know? So if I could sneak 1 day in there somewhere, I'd feel great about that workout plan!!!
OMG, NSV! After my workout today and shower my 1 bra was nasty so I'm digging through my stuff to find another one. That 1 bra I wear 24/7 is a 40/dd and it has been too big for awhile. Like cuppage too big, hooked on the tightest notch, and shoulder bands fallin' down. So I pull out this tan one I got a few wks ago that is 36/D and oh my holy goodness Lordy the dang thing fits! PERFECTLY! Thank god I've made it down to a 36 but have managed to keep my lovely D boobies, I love my boobies! So happy about that. It fits great!!! Oh and this may sound weird at first but....I accidently wore a pair of my moms panties the other day and didn't realize it until the end of the day. The reason this is an NSV is b/c I wear XL and she wears L. The reason it was an accident is b/c when I bought all those new cute boy shorts from target, she said she had to have some so we went for me to buy her some. She picked out 1 pair that matches the ones I have, and they're the white ones w/ navy polka dots. So anyway, I was amazed they fit b/c they weren't tight at all. And my XL's don't hang off me or anything but they're just comfy. hers fit, just perfectly. So I've gone down to a L in panties, maybe I'll fit into victoria secret's secret small panties soon!
OK so I might as well share some weird OCD scale things I did today.
woke up: 238.8
mid-morning: 240.2 **don't know why I weighed, I don't normally obsess.
after workout: 238.0
(I know the ave. person has normal fluctuations throughout the day so I'm prepared to not see 236 tomorrow AM but I really HOPE I do.)
so I only admit I weighed 3x today b/c it was good, in the end! Can you imagine losing 2.2 lbs in like 4 hrs and I did not pee or poo in those 4 hrs. That was....eat protein shake, workout for almost 3 hrs, shower, then weight! Crazy huh? But I'll take it. Stoked to see what the scale says in the morning! Tomorrow am is my like "half week WI day", I do "official" WI's on WEd and Sat. Wednesday is my official, offiicial WI day and Sat is my "make sure I'm doing ok" WI day.

This is the site I started back using for tracking my food and exercise and weight. I used it pre-op and up to about 2 mths post-op and quit for some reason. It really helped me so I don't know why I ever quit. I'm one of those people who don't realize HOW much or the CALORIES in what I eat. So I have to have it written down to hold me accountable. (which I have not been the last few mths, ie. slow weightloss). It's called www.livestrong.com and you go to "the daily plate" section to track food. Some of you may use it, it is talked about a lot on www.lapbandtalk.com it's awesome! if you click on it you can see the totals and how it breaks food down by the cal/carbs/fat gm/protein etc and the exercise you did is specialized by your weight, your heart rate, age, exercise, and how long you did it. So it's more accurate than the monitors on the machines, on how much you burn. It's super cool! AND FREE!

ReplyDeletewow you were a workout machine!!! I dont like the tredmill I LOVE the Elliptical and I also LOVE spin class...You should so see if they offer a spin class that you can go to its totally addictive! if you keep it up youll be caught up to me soon!!! :o)
ReplyDeletep.s I went from a 42/ddd Im down to a 36/c or d depending on the bra so they will still go down mine look horriable!!! I know that they will need to be fixed.
mary- they do offer a spin class and I think they had 1 in the evenings that I could maybe do. Honestly, I've been so afraid to attempt that. When u say you do it all the time, I worship that. B/c when I see them do it on the biggest loser it looks sooooo soooo hard and I just don't think I'd be capable of it. I guess I could try it just once and see how it goes. It's off in this room of it's own w/ the bikes all set up and a mirror or something. I hear it burns a ton of calories too.

I always used the daily plate but got tired of their iphone app buggy-ness...LOL! So I changed to myfitnesspal.com and love it. I too, have to write everything down, even now 17 months out from surgery.
