ALRIGHT PEOPLES, HERE GOES IT!






EXERCISE: DID A GOOD RUN AT THE YMCA LAST NIGHT, 3.5 MILES. HAD THE KIDS W/ ME IN THE KIDS WATCH AREA SO I WASN’T ABLE TO DO AS MUCH. I’D LIKE TO JOIN A GYM CLOSER TO HOME B/C THE Y IS 10 MILES AWAY BUT THERE ARE 2 HUGE ONES A MILE FROM THE HOUSE. THEY’D BE PERFECT I JUST DON’T KNOW HOW EXPENSIVE THEY ARE. THIS ONE IS HUGE, HAS BOOT CAMP CLASSES, IS OPEN 24 HRS AND DOES ALL DIFF KINDS OF EXERCISE CLASSES AT NIGHT, A GOOD TIME FOR ME. SO I’M GOING TO LOOK INTO THE PRICE.






MEDIA: OMG DO U BELIEVE THIS TIGER WOODS STUFF? HE BUMPS HIS TRUCK, WE FIND OUT HIS WIFE HIT HIM W/ CLUBS, ALL THESE LADIES COME OUT, AND NOW HE’S GOING TO A REHAB IN ARIZONA FOR SEX ADDICTION? OMG! I THINK I BELIEVE SEX ADDICTION IS A REAL PROBLEM, BUT I THINK CELEBRITIES PULL THIS OUT SO THEY GET THE “I COULDN’T HELP IT, FEEL SORRY FOR ME” SYMPATHY CARD. I DUNNO, JUST THOUGHT I’D SHARE B/C I’M LISTENING TO TALK RADIO TODAY.






FILL: I GOT MY 5TH FILL YESTERDAY. I WAS PREVIOUSLY AT ABOUT 7 CC (BEFORE LAST APPT HAD LOST SOME CC’S SO IT’S AN ESTIMATE NOW). I HAD GREAT RESTRICTION THAT FIRST WK AND THE LAST THREE HAVE BEEN TOUGHER. I HADN’T LOST MUCH WEIGHT SINCE I SAW HIM BUT HE WAS SATISFIED W/ IT AND SAID I WAS DOING GREAT! SO HE SAID HE’LL ADD MORE B/C I TOLD HIM THAT “RESTRICTION FEELING” WENT AWAY AFTER A BIT. SO HE PUTS IN 1 CC AND I SIT UP AND DRINK A “SIP” OF WATER. IT GOES DOWN FINE. HE SAYS, “GULF THE WATER”, SO I DID AND IT WAS FINE. THEN HE SAYS, “DO IT AGAIN” SO I DID. AS SOON AS I GOT THE CUP TO MY MOUTH AN INVOLUNTARY BURP CREPT UP MY THROAT W/ A LITTLE WATER. HE SAYS “WAS THAT A BURP?” AND I SAID “I DUNNO. FELT LIKE IT BUT IT DIDN’T COME OUT MY MOUTH” YOU KNOW? LIKE YOU HEARD IT THROUGH MY THROAT AND THAT’S IT, WEIRD AND IT WAS KINDA QUIET. SO HE TAKES OUT 0.25 SO I’D BE AT 7.75 AND I DRINK AGAIN. ALL GOOD. THEN I DRINK AGAIN, BURP AGAIN. SO HE TAKES OUT ANOTHER 0.25 AND SAYS I’M GOOD AT GETTING 0.50CC TODAY. SO NOW I HAVE A TOTAL OF 7.5 CC IN MY 11CC REALIZE BAND. I RARELY EVER GET THAT BURP UP WATER THING, SO I’M GUESSING THIS TIGHTNESS WILL BE GOOD.






SHAKES: SO SINCE I HAVE MY MAGIC BULLET, PROTEIN POWDER, SF SYRUPS AND STUFF ALL IN NOW I FIGURED THIS FILL WOULD BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO TRY SOME COOL SHAKE RECIPES. SO LAST NIGHT FOR DINNER I DID A BANANA VANILLA PROTEIN SHAKE AND OH MY HEAVENS, IT WAS DELISH!


HERE’S THE RECIPE:


1 SCOOP VANILLA PROTEIN POWDER


1 BANANA


8 OZ. MILK (I USED WHOLE MILK B/C IT’S WHAT I HAD)


A FEW DROPS OF VANILLA EXTRACT


3-4 ICE CUBES


1 TSPN OF YOGURT (I DID NOT ADD THIS PART)






THEN THIS MORNING I DID WHAT IS CALLED A BLUEBERRY BLAST PROTEIN SHAKE. IT WAS OK B/C THE RECIPE CALLED FOR WATER INSTEAD OF MILK, AND WHEN U USE THAT THE WATER SEPERATES FROM THE OTHER INGREDIENTS AFTER IT SITS ON THE COUNTER. SO IT TASTED A TINY BIT BLAND AND YOU HAD TO SHAKE IT UP BEFORE EVERY DRINK. I DID GET IT DOWN THOUGH, WASN’T HORRIBLE. I BROUGHT ALL THOSE INGREDIENTS TO WORK IN MY DUFFEL BAG TO MAKE ANOTHER ONE SO I’LL TRY IT W/ MILK THIS TIME AROUND AND HOPE IT TURNS OUT BETTER, CREAMIER.


HERE’S THE RECIPE:


1 SCOOP VANILLA PROTEIN


6 OZ. OF WATER


4 ICE CUBES


30 BLUEBERRIES

SO STOKED TO KEEP TRYING DIFF FLAVORS. MY MD SAID I SHOULDN’T BE SKIPPING MEALS SO I’LL BE SUBBING IN THESE NIFTY PROTEIN SHAKES FOR 1 MEAL A DAY JUST TO MAKE SURE I GET THE PROTEIN I NEED AND TO HELP ME STAY AT THE RIGHT CALORIES PER DAY. RIGHT NOW THEY ARE KEEPING ME FULL FOR A FEW HRS SO I GUESS THAT’S B/C OF THE GOOD FILL.


DUDES: THE NICK THING IS OVER. HE NEVER ASKED, I LOST INTEREST AND NOW I'M OVER IT. I DO LOVE THE LOOKS AND ATTENTION I GET NOW DAYS, MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I'M A WELCOMED CITIZEN IN WOMAN LAND AGAIN. KINDA WIERD AFTER GOING UNNOTICED FOR SO LONG. OH WELL, POO ON THOSE DAYS, THANKFUL TO BE HERE TODAY! THERE IS A NEW GUY, OLD GUY ACTUALLY, THAT I'M INTERESTED IN. HE'S A WAY OLD FRIEND AND I FOUND OUT HE'S THE SAME SIGN AS ME AND WE TALK ON FACEBOOK NEARLY EVERYDAY AND SO I'M CRUSHIN' ON HIM. WE'LL SEE HOW IT GOES.


ON EXERCISE AGAIN: I'D REALLY TRULY LIKE TO EVENTUALLY BE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO SNEAKS IN EXERCISE AT ANY GIVEN OPPORTUNITY. MY SISTER'S FRIEND DANIELLE DOES THAT ALLLLLL DAY LONG. SHE'LL DO A 20 MIN VIDEO IN THE AM, CRUNCHES AND FLOOR EXERCISES ON BREAKS AT WORK, AN HOUR ON THE TREADMILL AT NIGHT, AND SOMETIMES MORE TIME ON THE TREADMILL IF SHE CAN'T SLEEP AT NIGHT. THIS MAY SOUND UNHEALTHY TO SOME PEOPLE, ALMOST LIKE AN ADDICTION, BUT I THINK THAT'S A HEALTHY ADDICIOTN. HAHA! I JUST WISH I HAD THE THOUGHT AND REMINDER TO DO SOMETHING ONCE A DAY, LET ALONE 3X A DAY. GO HER!!! DID I MENTION SHE'S SKINNY? HAHA! SHE'S ONE OF THE ONES TRAINING FOR THIS HALF MARATHON WITH ME. IT'S BEEN SUPER FUN SHARING EMAILS AND FB MESSAGES BACK AND FORTH SHARING RECIPES, WORK OUT SCHEDULES, VITAMINS, ETC.

SPEAKING OF.....

VITAMINS: SO I HAVE BEEN THE MOST NON-COMPLIENT PATIENT W/ VITAMINS. I JUST AM NOT ONE TO REMEMBER TO TAKE THINGS DAILY. I, HOWEVER, DO REMEMBER TO GIVE MY KIDS THEIR MEDICINE EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. IT'S STRANGE I KNOW. I GUESS IF I DID MINE AT THE SAME TIME IT'D BE FINE BUT I ALWAYS THOUGHT U WERE SUPPOSED TO TAKE VITAMINS IN THE MORNING, I DUNNO. THESE I WILL ATTEMPT AT NIGHT, JUST TO GET THEM INTO MY SYSTEM. THE VITAMINS BELOW ARE THE VITAMINS MY SURGEON RECOMMENDS, HE DOESN'T PUSH IT. HE SAYS YOU CAN USE ANY KIND THESE ARE JUST FORMULATED TO BE ABSORBED BETTER FOR LAPBAND AND BYPASS PATIENTS AND IT'S A BLEND FOR BARIATRIC PATIENTS. SO I ORDERED THIS 30 DAY SUPPLY.

SO YES THIS IS 2 DIFF KINDS OF CALCIUM BUT I ONLY GOT THE CHEWY ONES B/C I GOT THOSE RIGHT AFTER SURGERY AND THEY HAVE CHOC AND LEMON AND THE LEMON LITERALLY TASTES LIKE A STARBURST, IT'S YUM!!! SO THESE SHOULD ALL BE HERE WITHIN A FEW DAYS. HOPEFULLY IT'LL HELP ME FEEL LESS RUN DOWN AND EXHAUSTED ALL THE TIME. THIS LAST WK HAS BEEN SO WEIRD FOR ME GOING TO BED AT LIKE 9PM B/C I CAN'T HOLD MY EYES OPEN. I'VE DONE NOOOOO SCHOOL WORK IN THE LAST 2 WKS SO I'VE GOT TO GET TO IT, IT MAKES ME SO MAD AT MYSELF. IT'S JUST SO HARD TO HAVE SO MANY DIFF THINGS IN YOUR 1 LIFE SHOULD BE PRIORITY #1. I ENVY PEOPLE GOING THROUGH THIS PROCESS WHO DON'T HAVE KIDS B/C IT GIVES U MORE TIME TO FOCUS ON YOURSELF AND GET STUFF DONE.

  1. SO I COULDN’T DO THE SHAKE I WANTED TO FOR LUNCH. EAGERLY HEADED DOWN TO OUR CAFÉ TO PICK UP SOME YUMMY FRUIT AND THEY DIDN’T HAVE ANY OUT. SO IN THE END, AFTER STARRING FOR PROBABLY A GOOD 5 MINS AT WHAT THEY HAD, I CHOSE TO BUY A STARBUCKS COFEE FRAPPUCCINO COFEE DRINK. MAYBE NOT BEST CHOICE? I MIXED IT W/ ICE, PROTEIN POWDER AND THAT’S IT. SO THE TOTAL NUTRITIONAL INFO FOR MY LUNCH STARBUCKS SHAKE:

    CALORIES: 318
    FAT: 5GM
    CARBS: 39 GM ***WOWSA***
    PROTEIN: 28 GM

    NOT HORRIBLE, COMPARED TO A MEAL BUT UNEXPECTEDLY HIGH IN CARBS. MY AM SHAKE ONLY HAD 9GM OF CARBS, MOSTLY FROM THE PROTEIN POWDER. BUT THAT STILL BRINGS ME TO A GRAND TOTAL OF 456 CALORIES FOR THE DAY SO FAR SO I’M FEELIN’ GOOD ABOUT THAT. OHH AND THE SHAKE WAS YUMMY. THE COFFEE TASTE COMPLETELY DISGUISES THE PROTEIN TASTE BUT THE COFFEE DOES HAVE A “STRONG” COFFEE AFTER-TASTE. THE MAIN REASON I DON’T LOVE COFFEE. BUT IT’LL DO.

    I am finding I can't have blended drinks- they give me gas that is painful. I guess all that air forced into from blending?

    But i can have protein powder and milk just fine.

    Weird huh?

  4. Hey Liz....thanks for your comment. Thanks for all your info. I don;t know why my dr waits so long. One week after my fill(first & only) in Nov I could already tell it was not enough fluid and my appt was not until Jan 28, 2010. So I called to make another appt byut they were booked up through Feb already. They only do LapBand fills on Thursdays. So I kept my appt in Jan. I can't wait to really see the effects of the LapBand, right now, I feel like I did before I even ever had sx. Other than I have to chew good, or it gets stuck. But, I don't have that full feeling and my stomach growls like crazy. Wish me luck. You are looking fantastic. Take care.

  5. Hey Liz.....I have only had one fill. I am dying for another one. My appt isn't until Jan, I tried to schedule it for earlier but they are booked thru Feb. I want to get the show on the road. I want to only eat 1 cup of food and be satisfied. I still feel hungry, I eat as much as I used to before sx. The only difference is taht I am excersing. Wish me luck. I'm trying to hang in there til Jan =)
