Pics of me for fun!

All ready except my hair was air drying wavy!

Posin'! Trying to stand and take pics w/o my legs touching, haha1 Had to spread 'em out, hehe!

Kaboos! It's funny seeing my bathroom in these shots. i don't know about you guys but I always notice the background of pictures when people take pics of themselves on here. I always pose in front of marilyn or my art pieces. Hehe! Here you can see my messy bathroom and that I finally moved the Michael jackson book from my bathroom reading pile.

P.S. I found this incredibly cheap house in my parents neighborhood the other day and it spraked my desires to buy a house, yet again. I go through these phases of obcessing about it and then forgetting about it b/c I'm not ready (ie, downpayment and credit score). The house was 2 bed/2bath/2 garage for $70,000 when I'm sure it was $180,000 before the economy issues, so good deal needless to say! So now my score only needs to come up 30 more points (it's gone up about 30 in the last 6 mths) and I need to save up for a downpayment. <---no parents help w/ that b/c I want it to be about me doing it on my own. But the cheaper the house, the less the downpayement since it's a percentage. And most sellers now are offering to pay closing costs...so I'm trying to be really adamit about doing what I need to do NOW b/c I feel this strong to desire to be MY own house w/o a man and SETTLE DOWN in one location to call home and make roots.
A lot of my family says i"m the roamer person, which has been true in the past. But in the past I also had no desire to stop and settle down, I like the change and newness of moving frequently. So used to I'd move every 3 mths (before I had kids) to once a year now when my lease is up. I want to stay somewhere at least 5 years, buy a fixer upper and remodel. I love house projects and yard projects and my mom loves to help with them! Besides, the price range I'm looking at, mymortage (and insur and stuff) wouldbe like $200/mth less than what I pay to rent now.
My mom was uneasy w/ me being interesting in a 2 bed house b/c I have 2 boys and they share a room now but they really do BETTEr w/ their own rooms. So I decided I'd once again look in Queen Creek. QC is a town "out in the booneys". In this huge phoenix metro, I have always lived in the east valley, which is made up of Mesa, chandler, Tempe, Apache Junction, Gilbert, Higley, and now Queen Creek. All the towns run together except Queen Creek. It is out on it's own about 15 miles from any other town, out in the desert, settled at the base of beautiful mountains. It's a nice peaceful place (I rented out there once for 8 mths) but it's FAR out. So my daily commute would go from 40 miles total a day to 91 miles total a day. My car can handle it, it gets GREAT gas mileage (I had a beater when I lived out there before, that guzzled gas) it's just the time thing. We'd spend an hour and 15 total from my work, to their school, to home. But is it worth it, to buy my own place.
See the different w/ QC is b/c it's so far out all their houses are cheaper than ANY other town in the east valley. And ecspcially now they've gone down more. A 3/2/2 2 years ago would've cost about $130,000 which was a steal. Now they are all around $70.000 and no more than 5 years old, it's all new out there. A major "family oriented" area! Just FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Well see, I'll update you on if anything happens. I've already fallen in love w/ a few houses out there in my price range 3-4 bedrooms, w/ huge back yards that face open lang. That's my thing, I can't settle for a house that butts up to another house 100 feet away. It kills me. I need a few, even if Just a little one. Like w/ a park behind, that's cool. But I would LOVE to have one w/ a huge open field and land and desert and bushes out back, a perfect place to catch and photogrpah a beautiful sunset! I'm a sucker for the sunset. If I'm going to stay in a house for 5 years, that's the one thing I know it MUST have to keep me put.
That was a super long PS so I guess I'll sign off again, haha, toodles!
xoxo,
Liz again

  1. Great pics! You are on the right track wanting to buy your own home. Do it SOON if you can, so you can get that first time home buyer credit! That is like free money. Do you have a realtor? Find a good one to keep an eye out for you.

  2. Such pretty eyes!

My thighs stick together, too. So irritating.

The house buying stuff sounds really interesting. Is there a real estate website that we can go to see pics? :-)

I love looking at real estate and I totally get the need to nest when you're feeling good about your life. It's nice to put some roots down in a little place of your own.

  3. Oh I love houses. I'm a nut. Some people wonder why I want to go to school to be a teacher when I could find a lifetime of bliss being an architect, interior design, and/or BOTH! haha! I love everything having to do with houses. I look at houses a lot, most of the time just for fun though. I can get carried away doing it late at night and be at it for hours, dreaming and wishing they were mine.

When I was a teenager (before kids) me and my HS sweetheart would drive around to the brand new houses that were either having showings or were the model homes for a new neighborhood. We'd wonder around, ew and aw, take pics, trace the lines. I loved it. Of course we'd always do the big, big, nICE houses. It was fun. They hassel you more when you're older b/c they think you might actually be a buyer, so I don't do it must anymore. Plus NEW homes are stupid when newer ones are so cheap now. I will keep you guys posted if you're interested and think it's something I should share on here.

  4. Oh, haha, I didn't say why in that comment I chose teacher. Mainly b/c it's a more solid, steady gig. I have kids that depend on me and not only is it a regular job w/ a regular paycheck...but the summer time and breaks give me a chance to do my other passion, travel. Plus if I teach at a year round school (which I would prefer) then you just get 1 mth off in the summer and like 10 other mini school breaks, it's awesome! Ample time for traveling. Plusss, my kids would be w/ me and I would work when they were in school...so that means more time at home with them, no sitter.

  5. God my brain isn't working today, or maybe it's the wine. I also meant to say, I chose it b/c I love kids. I love teaching and learning and experiencing their life through their little eyes. I love helping out and watching spirits grow into bigger people. I think it's important to teach children some life lessons too while in elementary and help them try to all be nice, sweet, responsible, well rounded children. Think it's all cov'd now. haha!
