Catching up!
Alright ladies...and gents, I've been busy. I only didn't blog over the weekend but it felt like forever and I haven't even had the chance to read everyone elses blogs since Thur. I shall catch up tonight though!!!
So what's been up with me? Restriction is still good, still taking whole pills and doing fine. No snacking AT ALL! Eating 1 cup to 1 1/2 cups of food at a time, no over eating. I've had a few instances where I felt "too full" after, but this is a learning experience.
This weekend I was taking my eldest son Rilo man to his friends first bday party. As in, I'm the over protected parent who has never ALLOWED him to go before. This year has been about recognizing, acknowledging, and correcting my flaws. He got two invites for this weekend. So Saturday afternoon we're rushin to get ready, get the babysitter early for Konnor so Riley and I can go to the store alone to pick out Parker's present. It was nice, no shopping cart, just walking hand in hand with my 5 year old who is so mellow and grown up. I told him our budget and worked on subtraction while we picked out the bag, card, and toy. It was nice!!! We stop by my moms house to drop off our comforters to be washed in her ULTRA HUGE washer n dryer and we hung out a sec. I go to pee w/ my cell in my backpocket, rushin to hurry n leave for the party, tear my pants down quickly...and...PLOP! cell fall out of my pocket INTO THE TOILET. suck suck suck suck ass! <--that's the nice version of what I thought. So with my pants around my ankles, needing to pee super bad, i quickly grap it out. I rip it apart, and wrap it in a towel and then I pee. So no pee on the cell, but plenty of toilet germs. Grosssssss! did i mention i'm a crazy germ spastic person??? ewwwww!
I was super sad. Blew it out w/ a hair dryer for 20 mins then I took my moms old cell to rush to the party. I felt so disconnected from the world not getting my facebook and myspace updates. And I wanted to do a facebook update from the party sooooooooooo bad about how weird, ackward, and strange the party was. haha! Let me leave it at this....party for a little asian boy Parker turning 5, his parents are loaded, they hired a magician/entertainer for 2 hours (wayyyy too long), they planned it to be a pool party too, they catered food from AJ'S FINE FOODS (a rich richey grocery store here), they went through about 7 bottles of wine to the adults during the 3 hours I was there, the parents never one spoke to parker the whole time I was there other than when they instructed him to blow out his candles on his fancy cake fit for a 25 yr old chicks bday. IT WAS JUST STRANGE. Not really for the kids, I think it was for the parents to meet other parents, drink, and socialize. Stupid! Poor kid!
The sad thing is that this was my impression of stupid parents prior to this party. I was hoping putting myself out there more would help prove myself wrong and give people a chance. I left there feeling like...well...his parents suck. We'll do the kids stuff, but they won't end up being new friends of mine, no way. Oh btw, his mom was wearing minollo blanicks shoes...for real?? Like, to a kids party you dress like that? That's fancy, too fancy for my blood I guess. Then again, I think it's incredibly stupid and idiotic to drink at a kids party then leave and drive your kids home after you've been drinking. Just dumb! (sorry if I offend anyone, I know in SOME instances this can be "Okay" if you hang out there long enough to sober up and they're friends and all, THIS SITUATION WAS NOT OKAY).
So then Sunday was Vera's party. Riley was so tired by the time we got there but I knew he'd have fun. It was a Pump It Up party place, AWESOME IDEA! It's a huge industrial sized building. You check in for the private party at the front and follow a long hallway to the back of the building. You go into a room about the size of half a basketball court w/ 50 foot ceilings and it's full of aired up bouncy house type stuff, a rock wall, slide etc. They play there for 45 mins. Then they line up to go thru double doors which takes them into ANOTHER room the size of a whole basketball court, huge ceilings and even more aired up things. Then after 45 mins there they go into the party room where they do pizza for 15 minutes, cake for 15 mins and then presents for 15 mins while the staff serves food, cleans up, helps with the presents, cleans up the paper, and makes a gift rec'd list. omg! it was so organized and efficient. I LOVE THE IDEA FOR BIGGER KIDS LIKE RILEY. It was fabulous! I am going to check the price for Riley's 6th bday next year.
Now why do you think this party sucked to me??? Umm, well Vera's parents never once introduced herself to the parents there. We all came in at the same time and her mom just ran around w/ her friends. vera's mom is probably close to my age and brought 5 chick girlfriends w/o kids and they just talked and laughed the entire time, she never talked to the other kids parents. It was stupid! Vera i was adorable and as sweet as pie! A precious doll like little girl, so beautiful! haha! Parents suck! They are sooooo annoying. The few parties I've done I introduce my family and friends as soon as they walk in so everyone can get acquanted and it starts the conversations. So annoying.
So with these 2 parties I met the OTHER kindergarten teacher (not rileys) and she was nice. She like me doesn't hang out w/ other parents very often. And this other chick who was nice! I don't even know her name but we chatted at both parties!
Even w/ my luck so far, I will still allow Riley to go to every party he's invited to. And Konnor too if he gets invites. I don't know how often 3 yr olds do invites or big parties. haha! Our for him so far have all just been family.
Ok so to phone business. I was w/ att and my mom ordered us new phones from Verizon b/c she was pisssssssssssed at att. Well we have both phones now, but I hadn't activated my verizon cell yet. Sunday after deciding my pda from att was dead, I finally opened the new phone. It's a Blackberry Storm, cool lookin! the first day I was pissed at it b/c I couldn't figure it out, I do not have my sim card, which means I do not have my contacts, calendar, or list. Omg that kills me! If I can fix that at a verizon store, I will bedoing that VERY soon. AS of now, I have my 15 most important contacts in there, that's it. But I like the facebook application, it's neato!
BTW, I've been missing from here b/c I've become "occupado" with the facebook games. I do soririty sister, farmville, farm town, restraunt city. The restraunt is my fav. I just switch back and forth to keep them all going and I've gotten pretty far in a short period of time. haha! omg, btw, a NSV! I swam w/ my boys sunday morning at my moms as the OFFICIAL LAST SWIM b/c her pool isn't heated. It's just now down to the mid 90's here in Az. I couldn't find my suit so I grabbed a red one of my moms. She had some workers in her garden laying patio stones so I got one w/ a little skirt and tankini to cover up alittle more. IT FIT! I didn't even question the size until I got it on b/c it fit. The bottoms are Large from walmart and the top was XL and it fit. Perfectly! I CANNOT BELIEVE MY ASS FIT INTO A LARGE SWIM SUIT. omg, omg. I am beyond stoked to get to share w/ my mommys b/c she is the queen of bathing suits. She has like 40 ranging from Large to XL from walmart to designer. I've always been jealous. I'm Stoked!

That bothers me too when people don't introduce others or contain themselves to personal conversations when they are in a host-type position. Argh!

Sounds like those parties were def more for themselves than anything the kids wanted! Hate self-indulgence like that.. I agree, they suck!
