A calorie to you, a calorie to me!
Okay so I was feeling down about my night time "snacking binge" so I decided to put it into context. I am a realist but first and foremost I am an optimist. Sooooo, yesterday even w/ my evening binge, these were my numbers.
YESTERDAY:
Cals -2 (1770) The -2 is b/c I burned 1772 calories, lucky me!
Fat 75gm
Cholest 130mg
Sodium 4810mg
Carbs 211 gm
Sugars 19g
Fiber 23g
Protein 60g
Okay so my caloric goal currently being 6 1/2 wks post op w/ minimal restriction is 1000-1200 calories a day of good nutritious food, high protein, lowER carb, and watch the sodium and cholesterol. (I love high cholesterol foods).
So 1770 seemed like such a failure to me. But tonight I decided I'd take the time to put in my site what an OLD typical binge day would be. for me that would be sonic for breakfast, YUMMO, a personal pizza at my work cafe (the size of a regular medium pizza), and Little Ceasars pizza for dinner at home. I am a pizza and/or pasta binger.
For this example I put in breakfast: 2 sonic regular sized breakfast burritos. Lunch was the personal thin crust pizza from work w/ pepperoni and xtra cheese. I'd eat the whole thing. Then a dinner binge would be LC pepperoni pizza. I would eat 5-6 slices out of 8, sharing w/my kids. Then I'd have 3-4 bread sticks. This is what those numbers look like...

Soooo, yay for Libby Lou! I binched the most health conscious way possible. I did not stuff myself. I ate dinner at 6pm, another dinner at 8pm, jello at 10pm, and sun chips at 11pm. Munching way too much! So the light for me is that I did good. I had some emotional and mental issues still to over come but I k new the reason why by daylight, I am evaluating myelf to try to prevent the problem from happening again, and I'm ok w/ myelf. I'm not mad at Betty (although I do wish I could lose some swelling and fluid and get back to normal). But I'm okay, I will survive. I still sometimes cannot believe I'd eat that much in a day, but there were days that were even wrose than that. Oh and as you can see, I am not a "sweets" craver, I just eat a TOn of what I love. That's why the band is goig to be perfect for me, b/c portion is the issue at heart.
So I don't know how boring it was to hear about all this, but I'm glad I took the time to analyze it, that is what I do best, after all.

I do like chocolate unfortunately, and it's one of the evil sliders. But my main prob was overeating like you. I couldn't ever get enough. And "Bring in another truckload!" was my mantra when it came to pasta, so I understand that binge firsthand!
ReplyDeleteOhhh I do miss pasta but I will eventually bring in whole wheat pasta.
