Future 1st Grade Teacher, yeah baby!!!

Okay so I will not speak like this to young, delicate minds! But so anywhoodle....

I just found out tonight I got accepted to the University I applied for. My whole "education career" has been at my local community college. I am a creature of habit!!! So I made the step to move to Western Governor's University. It is a super lage online university, offering accreditted programs. It has an all online teaching degree, then you do your "demonstrative teaching" in a real local classroom for 6 mths. So I've applied, done my assessment testing, and now I'm working on submitting my transcripts and financial aid. I can't wait to hear which classes I don't have to have, and which ones I"ll be doing. And also how long it will take too? Did I mention I love school, freakin' love it. I've gone part time almost every semester since aug '02 to may '08. I love school! So now that i"ve finally picked my major, I picked a good school and I'm goin' for it!!!! Oh so this program is "compentancy based", (hope I spelled that right so I don't look like a fool) so basically means you can test out of subjects. Say it's a subject like algebra that you deal with on a daily basis and know well, you can take a "final exam" and if you pass you get the course credit and move on!!! Isn't that awesome?!?!?!?! So based on my transcripts they will take off some of the classes I need and then my mentor will suggests the ones I should test out of right away, based on what he finds out from me. Then I start the program. And it's go at your own pace. So one class could take me 1 week to 6 mths. So you know I'll be flying through that easy stuff they throw at you first! Omg I'm so excited! I can't wait to go and buy a WGU car logo or sweater! haha! I'm a dork!!!

fYI- oh and TMI alert- I am bleeding so profusely I think I might need to replenish my iron levels. I have been on the depo shot for awhile, most of the last 4 years when I was on any bc it was the shot. Well I redid it a few mths ago even though I'm not active to balance out my hormones and now it's just wearing off and I'm getting my ( . ) and it is miserable. Normally I'm one of the lucky few that it only lasts 3 days. Well this is no fun! We're going on day 3 now w/ no slowing in sight! Geez! I know this is what I get for going 3-6 mths at a time w/o one. Oh well, maybe it'll just help me lose weight, hahahahahahaha! That's sad, even sadder that I really meant it.
xoxo,
Lizzle

  1. Good for you! You will have a change at every level after your lapband surgery, won't you (not that it's all band related)?

I'm glad that they work with you so well at WGU. Good luck in plowing through the program.
