Truth Tuesday
Sorry it's late!
Here goes...
I am terrified of the weight lifting room in the gym. Yep! In HS I lifted weights and ran track but ever since then, after putting on weight, it intimidates me. So at my recent, old gym I wouldn't even go over there. Now at my new gym, I WANTED to go over there to try the Kettle bells. So I told you guys I'd do it Mon and then I didn't workout Mon. So I go in yesterday and I got sooooooo nervous. I was going to do it first then do my cardio. But I was so scarred to be in that room, I did cardio first. I kept looking in there, seeing the hotttttt ripped men walking around. It's like testosterone central in there and everybody looks delish. The few women I saw in there skinny and trying to build muscle, no fattys in there. :/
So finally I finished my cardio and had 20 mins before I needed to pick up my boys. I go talk to the owner (he's not a trainer, but he's smart) and asked him to assist me in understanding kettle bells (other than the websites, pdf, and youtube clips Pie has already shared). So he was awesome! We have this whole shelf with all the different sizes of the metal ones and this huge chart that shows 12 different workouts with it. "The Swing" is on there but the hip thrust thing wasn't. Hmmm. Anyway, I was uber intimidated being in that room. The guy was chill and funny and mellowed me out but I just kept feeling men stare at me and men walking alll around STARRING, STARRING, STARRING! Ugh! And of course when it comes to fit men like that my first thought is "they are starring is disgust" not in "oh she's hott". :( Unfortunately, I do still feel that way when it comes to body builders wanna-be's!
So he leaves me with the kettle bells after watching my form a few times and I’m doing my thing. Put my headphones back in to distract myself from all the world. I was standing beside a mirror so I could watch my posture. THEN this dude way down at the other end of the gym, straight in front of me, is checking me out. Now, yes I was doing the squat and chest press move so he got to see me squat down (boobies out) and bring the weight up right above my boobs, so I’m sure he couldn’t resist. But THAT dude stared at me the whole time I was over there, 15 mins. It became uncomfortable. He wasn’t even doing his workout whole heartedly. That DID make me feel a little better though, cuz I could tell he was NOT disgusted!!! So maybe with time my intimidation with this weight lifting room and all the hot men will fade with time! ;)

I was intimidated at the free weights at first too, but I got over it when I saw results. I love weights and hopefully I won't end up too saggy when all is said and done!
ReplyDeleteHe was totally checking you out, girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteI am right there with ya. I am still stuck thinking that I am the chubby girl. If someone is looking at me I automatically think it is because I look bad, or with disgust. So crazy, someday we will walk down the street and when people look at us we will KNOW its because we are H-O-T!!!!!!!
